Me.
Passionate advocate for promoting women’s health and the socio-economic advancement of women and marginalized communities in the US and abroad. Strategic investor and mentor to women-owned businesses across various industries. Global philanthropist and investor in social impact ventures.
I am a healthcare executive, change agent, seasoned attorney, and people leader with US and global leadership experience. I started my career as a leader in the nonprofit sector in Houston, Texas with a focus on community development, non-profit development and fundraising, program development, implementation and evaluation to address issues involving economic development in inner cities, violence against women and disparities in breast health/access to healthcare in the Black and Latina communities. After seven years in the non-profit sector, I transitioned to building a career in life sciences as an attorney in private practice and in-house counsel. For almost 20 years, I have provided strategic advice and counsel to companies across industries, including cosmetics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotech. I joined Genentech 15.5 years ago and currently lead a team of senior attorneys in supporting a number of products in our commercial portfolio. I received my BA from the University of Virginia, MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and my JD from Howard University School of Law.
I am incredibly passionate about leveraging my educational, technical and financial resources to support the sustainable development of women owned businesses generally and programs and ventures designed to promote the wellbeing of women of color, specifically.
