About the Event
Women are leading powerful innovation and change in Ukraine in the face of extraordinary odds. Every night we see images of devastation but we have less access to hear the stories of innovation and perseverance that are being generated by leaders like Irina Rubis and Olga Diakova. Irina and Olga are alums of our Women Leaders for the World Fellowship and have led gender equity efforts in Ukraine from different vantage points: Olga as a social entrepreneur supporting businesses and the new social economy and Irina as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practitioner with a focus on gender. Both of these leaders were forced to leave Ukraine as a result of the war and, along with many other refugee women, have created new systems and ways of operating. They each have continued to advocate and work directly with Ukrainian women in their home country and abroad. This conversation will pose a unique opportunity to learn about the changing role of women's leadership, the new platforms being created to better link systems change, current needs and opportunities to show up as allies to Ukrainian women.
