Joanne Pasternack

About
Me.

Hello and congratulations on being selected for the Women Leaders for the World program! I am Joanne Pasternack, and I live in Washington, DC with my two teenagers, husband, and adorable dog.  A lawyer by training and an advocate by choice, I am a philanthropic impact strategist who, over the past two decades, has galvanized community engagement with internationally recognized brands including the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, ServiceNow, and Special Olympics.

As the President + CEO of Oliver+Rose, I work with professional athletes, legends, entertainers, philanthropists, corporate executives, and high net worth individuals to amplify their impact to inspire change around their areas of passion, commitment and expertise. Through this role, I co-founded and serve as the CEO of Athletes’ Voices, launched in collaboration with Harvard University and co-facilitated by a consortium of the athletic conferences comprising 45 historically black colleges and universities.

I spent twelve seasons leading philanthropic efforts for professional sports franchises in the National Basketball Association and National Football League. I hold a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a JD from Santa Clara University, and completed the Executives in Non-Profit Leadership program at Stanford GSB and I currently serve as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, focused on the role of sports on global impact.

A world-traveler, I am conversant in Spanish and Hebrew and have visited 50 countries - including most areas of the United States. I serve on the boards of several non-profit and for-profit organizations. I am a vocal advocate for gender parity, abilities inclusion, LGBTQIA+, leadership for girls, and, in memory of my father, research around younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

Areas of expertise that I would bring to our partnership include Board development and management, personnel management, fundraising and fund development, marketing strategy and branding, athlete engagement, creativity, and executive leadership. I also just love meeting people and serving as a mentor and can’t wait to work with you to achieve your dreams!
