Dr. Ericka Omena Erickson, Social Impact Consultant
Dr. Ericka Omena Erickson is a seasoned social impact consultant with over a decade of experience shaping equitable early care and education (ECE) policy and community development strategies across California. Her work centers on creating systems that are just, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of families, providers, and underrepresented communities.
Ericka has served in key public policy and leadership roles, including as the Strategy and Policy Manager for the San Francisco Child Care Planning and Advisory Council, Local Child Care and Development Planning Council (LPC) Coordinator for Marin and Solano Counties, and as a Policy and Program Officer at the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF). At LIIF, she was instrumental in securing over $350 million in funding for California’s Child Care and Development Infrastructure Grant Program and co-launched Build Up California, a statewide initiative to strengthen and expand child care facilities in underserved communities.
A proud Latina and trilingual advocate (fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese), Ericka is deeply committed to amplifying community voice in systems change efforts. In 2024, she earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University, where her work focused on social justice and equity in public systems.
As a consultant, Ericka partners with organizations, government agencies, and philanthropic institutions to advance racial and gender equity, expand access to high-quality child care, and build community-rooted solutions that last. She continues to collaborate with changemakers across sectors to reimagine what’s possible for children, families, and our collective future.
