About the Event

Join us for the inaugural At the Table, an intimate gathering of senior women leaders brought together by How Women Lead to learn, connect, and advance ideas that matter. Over lunch with Minneapolis skyline views, globally accomplished CMO and AI expert Sharon Harris will share her provocative take on what it means to lead in an AI-driven world. Then we'll go deeper together, because that's what this community does best. We'll close with an Ask and Offer moment, a chance to name what you need and offer what you can.

About the Talk

The Human Edge: Why Leadership Matters More, Not Less, in an AI World

AI can optimize, predict, and automate. It cannot lead. As artificial intelligence reshapes every industry, the leaders who thrive won't be the ones who out-compute the machines. They'll be the ones who double down on what makes them irreplaceably human: judgment, vision, empathy, and the courage to make a call when the data runs out. This talk challenges leaders to stop outsourcing their instincts and start reclaiming their seat at the table. AI is a tool. Leadership is still a human responsibility, and it starts with you.

3 Key Takeaways:

  1. AI amplifies leadership, it doesn't replace it. The technology can process information faster than any human, but it cannot set direction, build trust, or make values-based decisions. Leaders who understand this distinction will use AI as an accelerant rather than a crutch.

  2. Your instincts are a competitive advantage. In a world flooded with data and automated recommendations, the ability to read a room, sense what a team needs, and make a judgment call under uncertainty is becoming rarer and more valuable, not less.

  3. Leadership is a choice you make daily, not a title you hold. The leaders who will define the next decade are the ones who consciously choose to stay engaged, stay curious, and stay in the driver's seat rather than letting technology or circumstance make decisions for them.
