Short Bio
Nancy is a former banking CEO who is passionate about getting more qualified women a seat at the corporate board table. She founded Women2Boards in 2014 and shepherds women on their board journey in a variety of ways. She designed the How Women Lead Board Readiness Workshop Program. Over 700 women have been through this program under her leadership and many of those have taken their seat at the boardroom table. She coached aspiring directors for the Athena Alliance for 8 years.
Nancy has 30+years of management and governance experience. She was CEO of Western Independent Bankers, the largest regional banking association in the US, for over 20 years. She created educational programs for directors and senior executives, and worked with hundreds of bank CEOs and board members.
She served on two private company boards for financial institution products.
Nancy spent eight years with the California Bankers Association holding a variety of positions including a Senior Vice President role. She oversaw federal government relations, public affairs, communications, educational programs and conferences.
Prior to adopting California as her home, she worked for three different members of Congress in Washington DC for six years, including a stint as a Legislative Director at the age of 24.

Nancy is passionate about getting more qualified women a seat at the board table. She founded Women2Boards in 2014 to assist both corporate boards and women connect and improve gender diversity in the boardroom. She launched and chaired the 2020 Women on Boards San Francisco Annual Event in 2016. Following the success of the inaugural events, she partnered with How Women Lead to expand the reach of this annual meeting and designed their Board Readiness Workshop Program in 2018 to take it to another level. Over 800 women have been through this program under her leadership and many of those have taken their seat at the boardroom table. She also coached aspiring directors for the Athena Alliance for 8 years.
Nancy has 30+years of management and governance experience. She was CEO of Western Independent Bankers, the largest regional banking association in the US, for over 20 years. She was hired as the top staff member in 1988, when women in CEO banking roles were few and far between.
She served on two private company boards for financial institution products, created educational programs for directors and senior executives, and worked with hundreds of bank CEOs and board members. Nancy was instrumental in the startup of Western Independent Bankers Service Corporation to endorse third-parties services for community banks to compete with large institutions. She also launched a bank-owned Workers Compensation Self-Insurance Group.
Nancy spent eight years with the California Bankers Association holding a variety of positions including a Senior Vice President role. She oversaw federal government relations, public affairs, communications, educational programs and conferences.
Prior to adopting California as her home, she worked for three different members of Congress in Washington DC for six years, including a stint as a Legislative Director at the age of 24.
She’s been a volunteer throughout her career, including serving as president of the Financial Institutions Marketing Association West and Board member and Volunteer of the Year for the YMCA of San Francisco. Her passion for helping underserved women includes her past service on Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment San Francisco Regional Board and on the Women’s Leadership Council for Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center.
