About
Me.

Name: Jodi Beasley

I am a seasoned communications, innovation, and sustainability professional based in Oakland,California. In my most recent role, I led B Lab U.S. & Canada’s Community Team as the Senior Director of Community. B Lab is the global nonprofit organizing body behind the rigorous for-profit business sustainability certification, B Corp Certified. My team was instrumental in driving high levels of satisfaction, engagement, and indispensability with B Corp Certified companies through initiatives and programs that created business value, drove impact, fostered a sense of community, and supported the health of the sustainability certification.

Prior to B Lab, I served as the partnerships lead for Fair Trade USA’s consumer packaged goods (CPG) division, building relationships with leaders in the CPG space and fostering their connection to sustainable and ethical global sourcing of tea, sugar, cocoa and other commodities. Fair Trade certified companies pay a living wage to workers and producers in their supply chains and fund education, infrastructure, and production investment projects in-country and support those who profit least from their labors. Earlier in my career, I was the Director of Innovation at food/beverage product development agency CCD Innovation, and led integrated marketing campaigns at several global and regional advertising agencies.

In addition to my professional roles, I am passionate about our youth and eager to impact positive outcomes for Oakland students, and have joined two organizations that support success for future generations. I sit on the Board of Oakland Promise, a nonprofit that supports young learners with the financial resources, educational programming, and mentorship to help them attend and thrive in higher education and attain the career of their choosing. I am also active with the East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC), a nonprofit that seeks to reduce barriers that contribute to disparities in wellness for socioeconomically disadvantaged and racially marginalized families in Alameda County, and to create communities where all children and families have support to reach their full potential.

I hold a B.S. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. In my free time, I love traveling, spending time with my partner and our twin adult daughters, sailing, hiking, cooking, and spoiling my dog, Juno.
