About
Me.

My professional journey as a Chinese-American woman has shown me the importance of having colleagues and role models who reflect my identity and cultural experiences. Along the way, creating communities where women can thrive became a priority. This has meant cheering on female teammates, fund-raising for women-affiliated groups, recruiting women to join universities and companies, and mentoring and promoting women to senior leadership roles. I’m excited to be part of How Women Lead’s Global Advisor Program and am looking forward to mentoring and learning from entrepreneurial women from around the world.

I have over 30 years of experience bringing content and products to markets across the global tech, mobile, and content landscapes. I was at Google for 12 years, and most recently led a strategy consulting and data science analytics team, where our insights shaped Google’s C-suite decisions on flexible work policy and workplace strategy. Earlier, I managed Google Play's content and app growth and merchandising strategy across 100+ markets, and assisted YouTube's expansion in Southeast Asia, securing content for critical launches in Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. As COO of a Sequoia-backed startup, I helped scale the platform to 200 million users, and built on past roles leading partner and product marketing at Motorola mobile devices and managing functional teams at Sony Music/BMG Entertainment. I started my career as a management consultant with a McKinsey spinoff.

Having lived and worked in eight countries in Europe and Asia (visited 70 so far), I am passionate about emerging markets and cross-cultural leadership. This past year, I have been advising nonprofits and AI startups, and am particularly interested in education and literacy, establishing libraries across six African countries and as a Board member of my local library. I’m a Harvard Business school and Columbia University graduate. My three rambunctious sons (and husband) keep me busy and I love the creative arts, reading, trying new food experiments, and hiking with our small terrier.
