Nicole Streeter is a practical results-driven executive adept at collaborating with C-Suite and Board members in translating and refining strategy into actions that achieve organization-wide goals for all stakeholders: shareholders, communities, and people.
As a Commissioner for the National Conference of Commissions on Uniform State Laws, Nicole’s skills of collaborating and refining strategy into action are apparent in the work she does, along with her fellow state commissioners, researching and reviewing laws of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands to draft and present for adoption uniform state laws.
When Nicole was Chief of Staff to the Chairman for the Council of the District of Columbia, she collaborated with stakeholders, translating strategy into action as the Chairman’s senior level confidential advisor. While managing the day to day operations of the Chairman’s office, she also represented the Chairman at meetings with stakeholders; coordinated with the Office of the Secretary; liaised between the Chairman and the Executive Branch, the Chairman and other Councilmembers, and the Council and Capitol Hill; plus oversaw and proofed drafts of the Chairman’s remarks to Congress, the public, and the legislative body.
In her next position as GC for the DC Public Charter School Board, Nicole was lead advisor to the Executive Director, the Board members and staff and led initiatives regarding charter school applications, reviews, and renewals for Washington, D.C.’s 68 charter schools. Nicole returned in 2018 and is currently GC to the Council of the District of Columbia, where as the head of all counsel, she advises the Chairman and the 12 other Councilmembers on all legislation, including Washington, D.C.’s local budget, while maintaining confidentiality between each Councilmember and the overall Council. Nicole earned her JD at the University of California at Berkeley and her BS at Georgetown University. Prior positions include roles within the U.S. Department of Justice, Covenant House Greater Washington, and District of Columbia Public Schools.
