Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Events Administrator will support the launch and execution of all HWL events. This person is expected to manage event pages, memos, follow-ups and other material. The candidate should be proficient in technology, particularly in the areas of video editing and Zoom. This role is designed for a self-motivated and creative individual who is passionate about event planning. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of event preparation and execution while maintaining strong communication with the HWL community. 


Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide event support to How Women Lead programs as needed 

    • Update event invitations 

    • Manage Eventbrite - creating new event pages and managing attendance

    • Send reminders and follow-up from events

    • Schedule prep calls with speakers

    • Create program PowerPoints and presentations 

    • Manage Zoom tech for events

  • Support relationship management across the HWL community

  • Create compelling event follow-ups through written summary, social media, and video editing

  • Support event hosts with logistical questions and social media needs  

  • Provide technical and logistical support for Women Leaders for the World fellowship program


Additional Expectations:

  • Attend selected How Women Lead virtual events

  • Be ready to take initiative to dive in and do the work. You will be an implementer and executor of ideas as much as a work-flow and project manager.


Skills and Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage-up 

  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment, enthusiasm for taking initiative and problem solving, and excellent judgment and decision making skills 

  • Stand out interpersonal skills, including a professional demeanor with senior leaders, and a great memory and ability to make connections with thought leaders and participants 

  • Proficient technology skills, including basic video editing

  • Good eye for graphic design (although technical graphic design skills not required)

    • Experience in Canva

    • Creativity in PPTs

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Social media management skills

  • Access to a personal computer, printer, and phone 

  • Availability during regular business hours 

  • Availability to work remotely 


Education and Experience

  • Minimum two years relevant work experience

  • Knowledge and commitment to women’s issues, women’s leadership, or philanthropy preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Dropbox, Box, Canva and Wix preferred
